I would like to thank the many people that have sent messages, cards, texts to me since last Friday 13th March.
I was a little busy on Thursday delivering to a new client near Cheltenham, however managed to return home in sufficient time to relax before my birthday.
For many of you who do know me, I enjoy lots of things in life, furniture being one of them, and as this year was my my 50th, I was treated to a stay over in a wonderful place, an old house where cooking of suppers and breakfasts was a relaxing pursuit, full of kippers, fresh bread, scrambled & poached eggs, fish pie and smoked salmon fillets and a little pop to compliment it all!
Thanks to Stellenbosch, Talisker, Glenkinchie, and a most fabulous Lagavulin, a great time was had by all.
Some great laughs were had when trying to play carpet bowls on a Hamadan runner, on a sloping and tilting floor does test skills and offer some interesting excuses for missing the Jack!
Here is one of the chairs from a small room, and I thought it was marvelous, perhaps not the best chair there, which was in my opinion a Georgian Walnut Shepherd’s Crook Armchair, suitably sized for a Georgian Country Farmer!
This charming Oak chair however, featured some great carving, which I think deserves a second look, despite having a replacement seat a few old repairs, I hope you enjoy it and I may well add a few other photographs taken over the weekend in the coming months.
Thanks again, and regards to all. Andy
