Well, yesterday was the last fair of the year that I organise, and we had a busy morning! Sadly the same cannot be said of the afternoon, but there were a few dealers who said they had done well, so all wasn’t lost.
Sue, Julian and Mandy, our caterers, and also now at a fair in Hungerford, offered an enjoyable lunch, and their strudel was fabulous.
Remember we have a New Year break, and do not return to Lechlade until February 2016!.
In the meantime, I shall be updating a few roadsigns and generally mending few tables to help us all keep going next year.
I am particularly pleased with my recently acquired bureau, in need of a little work, but I shall enjoy doing this, and have a few photographs of the progress.
Here is what it looks like at the moment!
Hope you like it.
This is before I start, yes the handles are replacements, and not in the original holes, there were wooden knobs previously, but the original holes have been plugged well, and a pattern of staining shows the original style, and it is likely I have some old ones to match. The locks will need keys, and the canted corners, and drawer layout helped me to like this piece. The missing piece from the foot on the left is even with it. I shall show the interior later, but it will be nice when tidied a little.
