Some furniture is too large and often just too awkward to bring to the Lechlade Antiques Fair, for it’s size, or weight, and so I thought I would begin to list a few of the items I have here, and show a photograph for reference.
Should you like more information, sizes, availability, and delivery schedule and rock bottom bargain prices for example, then please ask.
Equally, if you are looking for something, I may well be able to find it for you, so please ask me again! I do like being busy!
Recent items acquired in June 2016 include a pair of Solid Satinwood Chairs (Not Victorian Satin Walnut!), Georgian Tray Top Commode (Gillows Style!) Fab Quality Toilet Mirror, and Iron and Copper Firescreen from Devon, could it have come from Newlyn originally? Not to mention a quite rare “Triangular Table” sometimes called ” Handkerchief Tables” Really looking forward to tidying that one!
Oak Coffer. Good small size, colour and diamond pattern inlay, all for £300! Now sold!
Set of six Arts and Crafts Chairs. (Two showing). Oak rush seated chairs , very comfortable, need to check the style and maker, but could be Liberty, Heals, or similar. Waxing up nicely, good patina and colour, could be ready very soon! Please ask! £600 for the six anyone? Could always split if you only need 4, ask me!
Here is a mirror, I have cleaned the glass since taking the photo! (Yes, the bureau is being worked on ready for sale too, Walnut fronted, painted pine sides, one replacement handle, just happens it fits! Shall worry about that another day, needs the bracket feet sorting first, and maybe putting the fall front back would be a good idea too! Offers anyone £250?
Here is a country, or rustic some may say, dining table. Comfortably seats 6, recently waxed and now looks fab! Pine base, alder(?)top Old split to top, can fill with sliver of wood to compliment if required. Now sold!
Here is a clock I am hoping to take to Bibury
Here are the Satinwood chairs with a makers stamp under the seat , newly upholstered. Gone to a nice home and they are being enjoyed so I hear!
Here is an waxed and cleaned country dining table ready to go, just think the stories and meals this one has heard and seen! Did I mention I have sold this?
Here is a country, comfortable but very low, as has sadly lost its rockers, chair with drawer. Some reference books call these knitting or nursing chairs, some of the lambing chairs have more solid backs and deeper drawers,to keep nursing lambs warm. I think any inquisitive kitten would find a slightly open drawer a cosy place to kip if it was part full of wool, wouldn’t you?
